Re: Federal Register/ Vol 68, No. 82/Tueday, April 29, 2003: OCSE 34A: Quarterly Report of Collections

Attn: Desk Officer for ACF

I am writing in response to the solicitation for comments on the proposed changes to the OCSE 34A Quarterly Report of Collections. Thank you for providing the opportunity for the National Council of Child Support Directors (NCCSD) to comment on this important report. I am pleased to share the recommendation of NCCSD regarding the categorization of the undistributed collections in the instructions for this report. NCCSD is committed to ensuring that families receive collections in a timely manner, and the tracking mechanisms provided will assist in providing a focus on this critical issue.

To ease the understanding of our recommended revisions, in the attachment, I have inserted the NCCSD comments into the most recent draft of the instructions, and indicated those issues with which NCCSD concurs, as well as areas for which we are recommending additions or revisions.

Thank you for consideration of these comments. Please contact me at 860-424-5253 or dmf888@att.net if you have any questions, or need additional clarification in regard to the NCCSD comments.

Sincerely,

Diane M. Fray
President, NCCSD
